Kate is directing Sarah Ruhl’s Dead Man’s Cell Phone with Spirit Gum Theatre Company, opening April 2024.

Kate feels fortunate to have worked with some amazing theater companies, and most recently appeared as Lady Catherine/Musician in RhinoLeap’s Pride and Prejudice for which she also composed and performed original music.

She appeared as Bagheer/B.G. in Peppercorn Theatre’s The Jungle Book in 2019.

Prior to moving back to North Carolina, Kate worked with Chicago company the Hypocrites in residency at various regional theaters performing Gilbert & Sullivan.  In the summer of 2016, she played Ruth and Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance at Olney Theatre Center, learning banjo for the role and perfecting the art of the quick change. She has also appeared as Barker/Accordionist in The Mikado and Dot Dead-Eye/Sailress Candi in H.M.S. Pinafore at American Repertory Theatre and Actors Theatre of Louisville.

In the spring of 2016, Kate originated the role of Mephistopheles in a new adaptation of Dr. Faustus called Johanna Faustus, also with the Hypocrites.

Fall 2014 and Summer 2015, Kate originated a role in the World Premier and remount of the historic All Our Tragic, adapted and directed by Sean Graney.  

Kate has also worked with The New Colony, The Inconvenience, Bailiwick, Red Theater, Redmoon, and StageLeft, and has improvised at Second City, iO, Storytown, Upstairs Gallery, MCL, The Playground, and The New York, Chicago, and Kalamazoo Improv Festivals.
