Kate Carson-Groner is a North Carolina and Chicago artist who directs, devises new works, and performs as an actor and musician. She has voiced numerous national and online commercials, and she sings and plays accordion, banjo, ukulele, and musical saw, and dabbles in guitar, mandolin, piano, and concertina.
Kate is a seasoned actress, and is a former company member with The Hypocrites and The New Coordinates in Chicago. She enjoys the classics and has a special knack for comedy and improvisation. In art, and in life, she always seeks out humor, irony, and truth in an attempt to make genuine human connections.
Kate enjoys collaborating and creating new works. She has directed and coached improvisation, sketch, and theater, as well as performing in ensembles like The New Coordinates, who specialize in creating entirely new works. She also created a solo show about people who can fly.
As a visual artist, Kate fully embraces whimsy, as she primarily creates custom pet portraits in pen and ink or paint. She also enjoys designing greeting cards and creating humorous illustrations as gifts.
